Sandy Gillis
Sandy Gillis grew up in Southern California, with detours through North Carolina, Massachusetts and New York.
Sandy worked in television production for 15 years BCE (before children encompassed all). During this time of rest, she grew garden roses and greenery for two SGV florists, kept chickens and had a lifetime’s worth of fun. She enrolled in the horticulture program at Mt. San Antonio College with a special interest in propagation, irrigation systems and drought resistant landscapes.
Sandy is an EPA certified Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL), holds a permaculture design certificate, is a member of the International Society of Arborists Western Chapter, and earned a BA in English Literature at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts before many of you were born.
A plant and landscape junkie, Sandy loves travel and marvels at the adaptability of plants in various soils. She lives in Altadena with her husband and two furry friends.
